TESTS:
24 Hour Holter Monitor - This test records the hearts activity. The patient wears a monitor connected to electrodes placed on the chest for 24 hours or more. It is used to detect abnormalities of the heart.
Angioplasty/Stent - Angioplasty is a surgical treatment designed to open clogged arteries improving blood flow through them. It is a procedure for treating blockages and blood clots in arteries. Stents are devices that are permanently placed in the artery to keep the inner wall of the artery open.
Bio-Z - This is a monitor that sends a small current through the patient's chest to show the difference in the blood in the aorta when the heart is contracting and when it is at rest. It shows if the heart is working properly.
Cardiac Catheterization - This is a diagnostic procedure where a flexible tube is passed into the heart through a vein or an artery. It is a procedure that identifies possible problems with your heart or its arteries. Cardiac Catheterization is used to diagnose heart disease.
Carotid Dopplers - A test the measures the amount of blood flow in the carotid arteries.
Colonoscopy/Endoscopy Lab - The insertion of a fiberoptic tube into the rectum to examine the colon.
Diabetes Education Center - Informs patients about diabetes including how to control and prevent it.
Echocardiogram - This is a non-invasive test which uses ultrasound waves to produce an image of the heart. This exam helps visualize the heart chambers, size, thickness of the muscle wall and overall structure of the heart. It measures the heart's activity.
Gated Studies - It measures the heart's efficiency of pumping blood.
Nuclear Cardiology - A noninvasive test that involves the use of small amounts of radioactive substances. It is injected into a vein and monitored with a gamma camera. This camera reveals areas of the heart that are not getting enough blood.
Pacemaker - Pacemakers are devices implanted in the upper chest area. The pacemaker electrically stimulates the heart to contract and pump blood throughout the body in cases where the heart's electrical system is not functioning.
Physical Therapy and Cardiac Rehabilitation - Treatment consisting of exercise used to strengthen the body, regain range of motion, or relearn movement. Cardiac rehabilitation is set toward lifestyle modification for people who have had heart problems.
Pulmonary Function Test - A test where the patient is required to breathe into a machine in order to determine the health status of their lungs.
Radiology - Radiation is used to diagnose and treat illnesses.
Stress Test - This study tests the heart at rest and under stress. This is used to measure your heart and lung function during exercise (usually on a treadmill). It can be used in the diagnosis of heart disease.
Thallium Stress Testing - These tests are nuclear imaging methods that supply the doctor with a view of the blood flow into the heart.
Transesophageal Echocardiogram - This is an invasive imaging procedure that creates a picture of the heart's movement, valves and chambers using ultrasound waves. A small device is passed down through the esophagus. It produces better, more detailed images of the heart.
T-Wave Alternans Testing - This is a noninvasive technique that is used to identify the risk of sudden cardiac arrest due to ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
X-Rays - We provide onsite x-rays for patients in order to help diagnose any problems not directly visible.
